I recently recorded a segment for Dailysonic. It was a little out of my comfort zone since the podcast is more of a scripted NPR-style thing. I usually just draw up an outline and then talk. This needed a different flow and structure.
I was reminded of an important principle when it comes to writing/scripting your shows:
Writing for the ears is different than writing for the eyes
When you write and speak something, the listeners needs to be able to understand it the first time around. Writing your podcast for the ears will keep your listeners listening. In this episode I outline several tips on how to do this.
